How would you define a "fun job"?

A fun job means that you find the work exciting and you’re paid well. Compensation is an important factor when it comes to defining a fun job. That’s because you will ultimately sour on any job that doesn’t provide you the funds to live your ideal life.

How can students figure out what kind of job might be fun for them if they've never had an official work experience?

They should focus on job opportunities that sound intriguing and allow them to use their strengths. They should also resist the urge to seek out opportunities they aren’t qualified for or don’t pay well, no matter how fun it sounds.

What's your number one piece of advice for a student who wants to land a "fun job"?

My #1 tip for students looking to land a fun job is to use LinkedIn to research the “fun factor” of various job opportunities. They can explore the work history of people that started their career in a similar role. If students can envision themselves enjoying a similar career path, both on the work front and the lifestyle that those career choices would provide for, that may be an indicator that it's a fun job opportunity.
