Don’t. Eat. Time.

This most popular snack in the audit room is toxic, don't eat it. ⚠ 🤢 👀

🕒 Time. Don’t eat it. No matter how tempted you are.

For those who aren’t familiar, eating time is when you spend a certain amount of time working on a client, but you feel pressured to say you spent less time than you actually did.

Managers budget a certain amount of time to be spent at each level for every engagement. If you spend more time than that, it’s not a good look.

🤥 It’s a mind game really. I get it,  the fear is that if you tell the truth someone may think you’re inefficient, or too slow.

To think that you may work a 13 hour day but you’re too scared to log more than 11 hours, shows just how toxic the concept of eating time has become.

⚖To be fair, every good manager will tell you NOT to eat time. But if you blow the budget by billing too many hours, that same manager will be forced to explain it to the higher ups.

💎 All I have to say is, log your time, don’t eat it. That ridiculously high annual goal ain’t gonna meet itself!
