Do THIS many busy seasons

Stay in public accounting for THIS many years at a minimum… 🦉 👀 😬

💎 Three Years 💎

Most people make senior associate after 3 years or so, which is a milestone you should aim to hit.

The difference in responsibilities between associate and senior associate is drastic.

---------------

🏋‍♂️ Senior Associates:

◽ Run the engagement team

◽ Oversee the work of interns and associates

◽ Arguably take on the heaviest workload on the team

----------------

😱 Will it be career suicide if you leave as an associate? No, not at all.

BUT if you’re looking to exit into industry, most likely the hiring manager spent time in public accounting... as a senior associate.

🚫 You don’t want anyone to question whether you’re going to cut and run when things get hard...

You don’t want anyone to think you couldn’t hack it or that you weren’t equipped to lead a team.

🦉 You don’t need a Wise Old Owl to tell you, you can avoid those questions by staying in public accounting for 3 years at a minimum.
