The Beef with Accounting

There’s no shortage of Beef with the accounting profession 🍽 🥩

One rack of ribs sized problem is the 150 credit requirement. Most people agree, a 5th year of college is costly and unnecessary.

😲 But WAIT! The AICPA has a solution called the Experience, Learn and Earn (ELE) program!

Instead of college courses, you use work experience and online courses to qualify for the CPA exam. Just make sure to pay the AICPA for making your credit problem go away.

🤷‍♂️ But hey, at least it's cheaper than dropping $28K on college tuition.

Here’s what the AICPA has to say:

“No single initiative will solve the profession’s talent shortage,” Susan Coffey, CEO of public accounting for the AICPA & CIMA, said in a statement.”

“But the ELE program demonstrates the kind of creativity, collaboration, and follow-through we need to remove barriers to a successful and rewarding career in accounting.”

There you have it, the AICPA is removing barriers by trimming the fat.
